Tangible spotify interface: Aesthetics of Interaction

Written by admin

The course “Aesthetics of Interaction” was my first actual succes of getting to grips with Creativity and Aesthetics. A tangible spotify interface was designed and modelled. The aim of the design was to have a minimalistic interaction with Spotify. The entire interaction paradigm is based on starting, stopping and turning the ring, which featured LEDs for extra feedback. According to the speed of the start, a energy level is determined and a generated playlist starts playing. Users can subsequently skip a song or go back a song by turning the ring and letting go. When the ring is positioned with more accuracy the position in the song itself is determined. And when the music should stop, the user stops the ring from turning. This gives a similar embodied experience as for example Vinyl, interfacing with the digital world fluently and intuitively.
